Class Information
The
Academy is open year-round and tuition is paid monthly.
Creative Movement I & II
- Ages 3-4, 30 minutes
Children learn creative
dance movements incorporated with music and rhythm awareness.
Imagination, fun, development of motor skills and good social skills are
all a part of this class. Activities are suitable for both girls and
boys.
Pre-Ballet I & II
- Ages 4-6, 45 minutes
As an extension to creative
movement, students will learn basic ballet positions, body alignment,
coordination, listening, and social skills. Exercises emphasize fun
while encouraging imagination and creativity through group interaction.
Beginning Ballet I & II - Ages
7 -13, 60 minutes
Training begins with the basic
fundamentals of classical ballet technique. Emphasis is placed on basic
skills, flexibility, musicality, and vocabulary that will allow students
to move into formal training.
Ballet I
- Ages: *IP, 60 minutes
Formal ballet training
begins with an emphasis on barre work, focusing on muscle development,
placement, strength, and control. Simple floor combinations, focusing on
body alignment and balance, allow students to develop poise,
self-confidence, physical coordination, and strength.
Ballet II
- Ages: *IP, 60 minutes
Students
continue to develop skills previously learned with continued focus on
muscle development, placement, strength, and control. The repetition of
exercises continues to develop technique required to advance to the next
level. Students at this level are encouraged to take a minimum of two or
more classes each week.
Ballet III
- Ages: *IP, 90 minutes
Students continue with
formal ballet training, muscular development and control necessary to
execute classical ballet movements. Emphasis now moves to center floor
combinations, turns, jumps, and pre-pointe classes. Students are
required at this level to take a minimum of three classes each week.
Ballet IV
- Ages: *IP, 120 minutes
Students continue with
emphasis on technique, placement, strength, and the development of a
more extensive vocabulary. Variations are taught as part of the class
curriculum along with continued development of pointe work. Students are
required at this level to take a minimum of three classes per week.
Ballet V
- Ages: *IP, 120 minutes
Ballet V continues with
technique, pointe, and variations. Emphasis is placed on consistency,
musicality, articulation, and natural expression. Students are
encouraged to allow their artistic personality to shine through.
Students are required at this level to take a minimum of four classes
per week.
Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Ages: *IP, 30 minutes
Pre-Pointe and Pointe are
part of the regular class curriculum in levels III – V. Once approved
for pointe classes, students are required to take a minimum of three to
four ballet classes per week.
Variations, Character, Pas de deux - Ages: *IP, varies
As students progress,
variations, character dance, and pas de deux (partnering) are added to
the regular curriculum in levels III – V.
Boys Class - Ages: *IP, 60 minutes
This class focuses on the
basic fundamentals of ballet – technique, coordination, flexibility,
turns, and jumps. Class is conducted in a fun, high-energy atmosphere
specifically designed for boys. The class encourages teamwork,
discussion of the stigma of boys taking ballet, and the comparison of
dancers and athletes with the intent to encourage male students to
continue with formal training.
Adult – Teen Ballet - Ages 14 & up, 60 minutes
This low impact class offers students with or without previous training the
opportunity to enjoy the art of ballet. The class is designed with a focus
on movement, balance, stretching and flexibility.
